History of the house

Seapoint House has been home to four generations of the O’ Malley. The house first open its doors to visitors in the early 1970s when Mary O Malley noticed weary tourists finding their way to this remote scenic spot.

Noted in travel magazines & guides as a must-see location, a hidden treasure.
As a founding member of the Farmhouse Association, Mary ran a successful business for 30 years handing the reins over to Carol & Conor in 2000. The house has been a constant work of love while maintaining the core principle of offering authentic quality Irish produce and service that we can be proud of globally

In the evening take a stroll into the Island, inhale the fresh sea air and experience a spectacular panoramic view of the bay …. it’s particularly stunning at sunset.

Westport has so many wonderful restaurants and cafes but my favourite is the seafood special in Giovanna’s followed by delicious homemade Ice cream from Krem on bridge street.

If you are lucky enough to be around on a Thursday morning, check out the country market stock up on artisan delights followed by a delicious locally roasted coffee from Bean West.

Make your way out to the harbour from Westport town centre through the grounds of Westport House, you won’t be disappointed!

Not to be missed a cold creamy glass of Guinness in the famous Matt Molloy’s traditional Irish pub in the company of good friends.

Testimonials

“Had a wonderful stay here with family. Boys were delighted to borrow kayaks for a paddle in Clew Bay. Carol and her family made us so welcome. Great attention to detail re COVID precautions also. Would highly recommend it.”

Absolutely fantastic guesthouse, 10/10 every time. Carol was so helpful, even before the stay she messaged me with the EirCode to help locate the property as it is quite remote, and advised of another property in the area that has the same name, and advising of local walks and places to eat also. The location is gorgeous, so peaceful and the views of the sea and surrounding scenery are second to none. Wish I stayed another night, no complaints whatsoever.

Magnifique endroit, excellent accueil, petit déjeuner formidable

Beautiful location. The host Carol, is a very genuinely helpful & accommodating lady. Breakfast was delicoius

Beautiful location. Perfectly situated between Westport & Newport. Our room was actually a lot bigger than even the picture conveyed. We were pleasantly surprised. Very close to Greenway Cycling track & the amazing Burrishoole loop walks.

We found it all absolutely charming.

It is right on the water and we had the most beautiful sea views from the room. We found it all utterly charming. We especially loved the jacuzzi bath. The breakfasts were perfect too. We definitely plan on returning here
